(KTVI) - The St. Charles County Amateur Sports Hall of Fame at T.R. Hughes Ballpark opened in 2002 to honor local athletes who achieved status in many sports including softball, baseball, and bowling.

A vintage collection of sports memorabilia, photos, trophies, pennants, souvenirs, records and awards is housed in the 860-square foot building.

Many items show the patina of age, and the nicks and scars of hard use. Visitors can see team uniforms, a wooden bowling ball and bowling pins, worn baseball gloves from the 1940s and 1950s, and baseball bats including a 'Powersized' Louisville Slugger and a wooden cork bat.

Some players of the River City Rascals enjoy hosts families. Check out this story.
