ALTON, IL (KTVI)-- Better weather this weekend should mean nice crowds for the first ever Great Rivers Festival.

The festival features events on both the Missouri and Illinois sides of the Discovery Bridge.

The celebration includes live music, sand artists, kayaking and boating. You can also take a tour of the lock and dam.

Events run from 10am to 5pm at both the National Great Rivers Museum in Alton and the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary in West Alton.
