(KTVI) - We are no longer in the “Giving Season” of Thanksgiving or Christmas. But with about half of area children getting free or reduced school lunches, food insecurity could hit families hard during summer breaks.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is teaming up with the United Way to collect food and toiletries for the St. Louis Area Foodbank. The pantry will distribute donations throughout the region for families who need a little help putting nutritious food on the table and keeping new toiletries in their homes. The agency is looking for non-perishable high-protein canned goods like canned tuna, meat and bean. Organizers are also looking for brand-new unopened toiletries for babies, children, men and women.
You can drop donations at any of nearly 60 First Bank locations. You can even start a drive at your own company.
