ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) - Thousands of customers in St. Charles and St. Peters are being asked to conserve water. The request is being made after a water supply line was shut down Monday for repairs.

The request only affects homes and businesses served by those cities, and not Missouri American Water customers.

The conservation request includes lawn sprinklers, filling swimming pools and washing cars.

The problem is expected to be fixed later this week.
