WAUKESHA, WI — A 12-year-old Wisconsin girl who police say was stabbed in an attack by two other 12-year-olds “is a fighter and is improving each and every day,” her family said Thursday in a news release.

“As parents of this little girl, we are overwhelmed with the amount of love and support we’ve received from our family, friends and community,” the family said in a statement obtained by CNN affiliate WTMJ.

Authorities said one girl held the victim down while another stabbed her 19 times in a Waukesha park Saturday morning, allegedly so that the alleged attackers could impress a fictitious, ghoulish Internet character called Slenderman.

The victim was left to crawl to her rescue, and she was taken to a hospital after a passing bicyclist found her, police said.

The suspects, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, were arrested hours after the victim was discovered, according to a criminal complaint. They have been charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, according to court documents filed Monday.

The two are being charged as adults, and bail is set at $500,000 for each, Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel said.

The victim is in stable condition at a southeastern Wisconsin hospital, the release said.

Her family has established an online fund-raising campaign at http://www.gofundme.com/HeartsForHealingWI. The campaign aims to raise $250,000 to help meet medical and legal expenses, according to the release, issued by a representative for the family.

The family also asked for “homemade hearts of paper, fabric and felted wool that are purple in color and infused with prayers, love and light.”

“The hearts will blanket the walls of the girl’s room to remind her that the power of love is greater than all else,” the release said.

Hearts can be sent to: Hearts for Healing, P.O. Box 407, Waukesha, WI, 53187-0407.

They look like they could be sellin girl scout cookies, then next minute , cuttin you up with a blade for the fun of it.
They just made that Slender Man famous. Movie deal probably in the works right now.

“HOPE THE 2 KILLERS GET WHAT THEY DESERVE?” According to the story, the victim is still alive and is actually recovering!
This is just another example of the sick twisted world we live in…..what a shame. GOD bless that 12-year old girl who continues to recover from her injuries.

Praying for this young lady’s speedy recovery and that the “friends” are appropriately punished for their crime. I don’t think race has anything to do with this I think part of the problem is that children believe everything they read on the internet and parents aren’t supervising what their children are doing….how were they found hours later by the police on an interstate (another news article stated) and why were they not being supervised closer by parents? My twelve year old has to come home to check in every forty five minutes…..

So sick and tire of the freaking race card,…has nothing to do with race….GET OVER IT!!!!!!

Pray for the victim for full recovery, but pray also for those two little girls who have to live with what they did. Pray that their minds, soul and spirits be healed. And yes parents have to be aware of the things their children say and do

You guys are sick. Use their photos and make them infamous, instead of a beautiful face of the victim. Are the offenders more important? They’ll be the ones remembered instead of this poor little girl.

less kids were killing them selves and others when they were punished for bad behavior ( yes even spankings) or taught you can’t always be the winner in a game, instead of everyone wins. They are poor winners and losers and their is no consequence for their bad behavior.
