(KTVI)- The National Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, or the NCADA, is hosting its 3rd annual Strike Down Heroin event, sponsored by Sam's Club. Dan Duncan, with Strike Down Heroin, talks about the event as well as bowls in the studio with Tim and April.

This event is coordinated by a committee of community members. Many of whom have lost a loved one to heroin overdose.  Their goal is to prevent other people from suffering, so they want to get the word out and let people know how dangerous heroin is.

Since 2006, nearly 2,000 people in St. Louis have died of a heroin or opiate overdose.  All of the money raised by Strike Down Heroin supports NCADA`s prevention programming.

The participating bowling alleys are: Crest Bowl, Crestwood Bowl, Plaza Lanes, Quonset Lanes, Show Me Lanes, St. Charles Lanes, St. Clair Bowl, Town `n Country Lanes, Tropicana Lanes, and West County Lanes.

If you're wanting to participate just bowl at any of these bowling alleys this Saturday, June 21st from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
