(KTVI)- George and Ira Gershwin's folk operaPorgy And Bess” returns to the Muny stage this week for the first time since 1988. Winner of the 2012 Tony® Award for Best Revival of a Musical, the show marks the return of a nationally touring show to the The Muny stage.

Set in Charleston’s fabled Catfish Row, the show tells the story of the crippled Porgy and his love for seductress Bess in 1920's Charleston, SC. Among its classic songs are "Summertime," "I Got Plenty O' Nuttin,'" and "I'm on My Way."

“The Gershwins' Porgy And Bess” runs from July 7 to July 13. All performances start at 8:15pm.
