Actavis Earth City lab closing affects 190 employees

Earth City, MO (KTVI) - The pharmaceutical company Actavis has announced today that it will be closing its Forest Laboratories in Earth City, Missouri. Actavis acquired Forest Laboratories in February, and has found that production at some of their facilities can be combined.

Following this decision, there will be immediate transitions taking place at Actavis. The warehousing and distribution related activities at Earth City will be moved to another Actavis facility in Gurnee, Illinois. Actavis reports that over time there will be more transitions from Earth City to other Actavis sites.

This decision to close the Forest Laboratories in Earth City will affect about 190 employees. Actavis will be providing a transition plan for all eligible employees which will include severance pay, benefits, outplacement and career transition services.
