13,000 Ameren customers still in the dark after storm; 11,000 restored

(KTVI) – Ameren crews are working to restore services to customers as soon as possible. On Monday, more than 23,000 customers lost power after two waves of storms blew through the Ameren Missouri service territory overnight.

As of of 7:00 a.m., Tuesday morning, more than 13,000 customers are still without power, but Ameren officials say they’ve restore power to 11,000 customers.

According to the President and CEO of Ameren Missouri Michael Moehn, “the strong winds that were ahead of the second wave of storms caused damage throughout our service territory.” Moehn also said that the field workers are out accessing the damage and are working to get the power back on.

Ameren recommends that customers stay clear of areas where power lines are down.
