The Cardinals made it two straight over the NL Central leading Milwaukee Brewers with a 10-2 win on Saturday at Miller Park. The victory gets the Cards even with the Brewers in the division. Both teams have 52-43 records. Back on July 1st, Milwaukee led the Cardinals by six and a half games!

In the Saturday win, Tony Cruz set a career high driving in three runs. The Cardinals offense pounded out 12 hits, including Kolten Wong’s two run home run. It’s his fourth long ball since coming off the disabled list. Jon Jay had three of those hits and an RBI. Jhonny Peralta had two hits and two RBI.

Adam Wainwright pitched seven innings, allowing just two runs to pick up his league leading 12th win of the season. The Redbirds go for the series sweep and the outright lead of the NL Central Division tomorrow, which also marks the end of the first half of the 2014 season.
