DOWNTOWN ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A mystery Downtown as police try to figure out what caused a man to fall eight stories from a hotel. It happened at the Crowne Plaza hotel on Fourth Street a little after 11:00pm Saturday.

Details are few, but firefighters say the victim, a 22-year old man, somehow fell eight stories to his death. Witnesses on the scene report lots of confusion along 4th Street on the busy Saturday night as police and firefighters attempted to sort out what happened.

St. Louis police are saying they do not consider this a suicide but they also do not  believe anything criminal is involved. They continue to investigate.

I was there in the hotel and none of what the cameraman is saying is true he didn’t fall and it wasn’t a balcony . It was an window the man was thrown from a window!

Yeah I live in the Mansion House apartment building across from the hotel and it WAS NOT a balcony. It was a window. It’s covered up with wood as I am typing this now. It did not even happen on the side that the news reporter is on. I saw the guy on the ground. It was a sad scene

In 1992, I lived in Gentry’s Landing, one of the sister towers, on the 11th floor. Never fell out the window. I am sure the lawsuit will be filed soon, even if the guy was at fault. Millions will be paid out!!

i did the security cameras at Gentry’s Landing and parking garage there is nothing that can go on in that building that isn’t seen by someone to bad Crowne Plaza don’t have a system like that or there would be film footage ….or do they? lol trust me they know if anyone was in that room with him they have coverage on every hall way

I stay in mansion house and I heard the scream. I thought someone was getting robbed or about to get shot. I will never forget that. When I went on the balcony and saw him…man. How he got thru that window is what is getting me. Terrible situation.

I was there that night on the 26 floor with friends. We heard a scream and went to the balcony and looking down we saw a crowd of people. The police just arrived on the sense, and it wasn’t until they shined their light that we saw a dead body. We saw a man laying on his back with blood around him. As they continue to shine the light my friend thought she saw a bullet mark on his upper chest. It wasn’t until the couple below us said look on the left side of the balcony; as we looked down there was a second body. During this whole ordeal my friend was in the lobby getting us towel because they didn’t answer the phone after numerous calls (we see why they didn’t answer now). My friend returned to the room and the staff member said a man committed suicide but on a different floor than reported.
This was a tragic situation and I feel sorry for the family and friend of the victims. However this matter played out and the information the news is reporting, one thing is true; and that is there were two deaths that night.
