Alderwoman Jennifer Florida appointed St. Louis Recorder of Deeds

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Mayor Francis Slay has appointed a new Recorder of Deeds for the City of St. Louis.  Jennifer Florida will fill the position vacated by Sharon Carpenter. Florida will also be resigning from her elected post as Alderwoman for the city's 15th ward.

According to a release from the office of the Mayor," Florida took the oath of office, administered by Circuit 22 Judge Steven Ohmer, on Monday morning.  Under state law, Mayor Slay appointed Florida to serve out the remainder of the Recorder’s term, which ends December 31, 2014."

Sharon Carpenter resigned after a nepotism investigation.

      I suppose $37,000 as an alderwoman didn’t pay enough. Now she will get 3x as much money and do 1/3 less work!!!

    Henry, that never happens in the fine city with slay in the mayors chair! I am shocked that you would suggest such! Just like the captain in CASABLANCA I am shocked that gambling is going on in here. Here are your winnings sir. if there is any dirt coming out of city hall, slay will be in hiding, he knows nothing, and is not involved at all!!! and the voters in the city keep sending him back.
