(KTVI)- Not having a home doesn’t mean you don’t have a birthday. When a family is struggling to get their lives back together, things like children’s birthday parties are simply not possible. But an O’Fallon, MO woman is trying to change that.
In November, Beth Brockling started Sweet Celebrations. The organization provides personalized birthday parties for homeless children at seven shelters in the St. Louis area.
Brockling, who volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters, got the idea for the parties from her little sister who had become homeless and was going to have to spend her birthday living in a car.
