NORTHWOODS, Mo. (AP) _ St. Louis County police say a 36-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a fatal fire earlier this month.

Police said in a release that the prosecutor’s office on Saturday charged Lakieshia Lane with first-degree murder and arson in the July 6 house fire that killed 49-year-old Dana Williams. Williams was found dead of smoke inhalation in an upstairs bedroom.

Police say Lane turned herself in to St. Louis County detectives on Friday evening and is being held on $500,000 cash bond.

It’s unclear if Lane has a lawyer.
