FERGUSON, MO (KTVI)  - Michael Brown's family wasn't speaking Friday, but the family attorney has.

This morning they like so many others saw  images of a strong armed robbery at a convenience store on West Florrissant. After the images were recorded Saturday, Michael Brown encountered the Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson.

The Brown family attorney says  the family and many of these protestors believe the still pictures released by the Ferguson police chief is an attempt to assassinate the character of Michael Brown.  At a press conference Friday his cousin tells reporters the surveillance pictures do not explain the officer`s reaction.

The family`s attorney`s say despite the events of Friday morning, they trust the investigation will be handled fairly with federal involvement.    They also ask that the community maintain calm and continue to protest peacefully.   Thursday night was a good start and they want that to continue.
