ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- Homicide detectives are investigating after a body was found inside a burning vehicle.

This happened around 7pm Thursday at 20th and Madison in north St. Louis.

Police say the body of a male victim was found in the driver's seat in a parking lot.

The center portion of the car was completely scorched, which caused investigators to become suspicious because car fires usually begin under the hood where the engine is located.

This is an on-going investigation.
