ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Four suspects are in custody after they allegedly committed two armed robberies and led police on a chase through downtown St. Louis.
The suspects made off with a cell phone, wallets and another more unique item, pants. Police say the suspects may have made a victim take off the pants or perhaps the victim was just carrying the pants.
This was certainly a pretty dramatic sequence of events overnight Tuesday.
The police chase ended early Wednesday morning at Montgomery and Broadway in north city.
All four suspects were arrested. Police made them stop and stand before taking them away so they could be identified by the victims.
This all started with a robbery just before midnight at Roger place and Humphrey when police say the four suspects, who were all armed, confronted two people and robbed them at gunpoint.
A half hour later, the same four suspects robbed another person at Keokuk and Giles.
The victims weren`t hurt in either case.
They were able to give police descriptions of the suspects and an older model Pontiac Grand Prix.
Police tried to pull the car over at Virginia Avenue and Delor in south city. However, the driver wouldn't stop and the chase began.
It continued down Broadway through downtown until the car ran over police spike strips. The car then stopped. All four suspects bailed out and tried to run away.
They were caught after a foot chase and one suspect was bitten by a police k9.
He was taken to a hospital but nobody was seriously hurt.
