Police taser suspect in foot chase

CASEYVILLE, IL (KTVI) – A Caseyville police officer used his taser to subdue a suspect during foot chase this past Saturday after the suspect failed to yield and stop for an officer.

The incident happened early Saturday morning just after 1 am in the 8900 block of Tucker Drive.

The suspect led the officer on a low-speed pursuit till the first block of Sharilane Drive in Fairview Heights, bailing out of his vehicle and fleeing on foot. The officer in pursuit used his taser to stop the suspect and arrest 52-year-old William Henderson.

Henderson was found carrying over 200 grams of marijuana and a large amount currency upon his person. He’s been charged with possession of cannabis, and resisting arrest.

He’s being held in the St. Clair County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
