Cardinals advance to NLCS; Beat Dodgers 3-2

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- For the fourth year in a row, the Cardinals are playing in the National League Championship Series. Red October in St. Louis is rolling on after the Cardinals beat the Dodgers 3 to 2 in a game that started yesterday afternoon and ended in the evening.

All of the Cardinals scoring came in the 7th inning.

Matt Adams blasted a three run homer after two redbirds had singled. The home run put the Cards up three to two. Then in the ninth inning, the Dodgers had two on when Carl Crawford hit a ground ball to Colten Wong. He tossed it to Johnny Peralta to seal the deal for the Redbirds.

The Cards are heading to their 9th NLCS since 2000. Afterward the game was the celebration in the Cardinals locker room.

The Cards will be facing the San Francisco Giants in the National League Championship Series. The Giants closed out their series against the Washington Nationals with a 3-2 win last night in San Francisco. This year`s NLCS is a rematch of 2012 the NLCS. They were up 3-1 in that series before losing to the Giants in the seventh.

The NLCS starts Saturday night at Busch Stadium. Game-time is 7p.m.

Game two will be on Sunday at Busch Stadium as well.

Games three, four and five if necessary, will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week, in San Francisco.

If a game six or seven is needed, they will be held back at Busch the following Saturday and Sunday.

All of the game-times, besides game one, are still to be determined.
