The Giants Travis Ishikawa's three run walk off home run off Michael Wacha in the bottom of the ninth inning won the National League pennant on Thursday night in San Francisco. The Giants won the best of seven series four games to one.

The Cardinals had battled all game and led 3-2 heading to the bottom of the eighth inning. But Giants pinch hitter Michael Morse homered off Cardinals relief pitcher Pat Neshek to tie the game at 3-3. Then Ishikawa's three run homer won the game and the series for the Giants in the bottom of the ninth.

The Cardinals scored first in the third inning on a Jon Jay double that sailed over Ishikawa in left field to give the Birds a 1-0 lead. The Cardinals recaptured the lead in the fourth inning on solo home runs by Matt Adams and Tony Cruz. Adam Wainwright threw seven strong innings, allowing just a two run homer to Giants rookie Joe Panik.

Fox 2 Sports reporter Charlie Marlow reports from the disappointed Cardinals locker room as their season comes to an end, just one step short of another World Series.
