Arch builders meet the public on monument’s 49th birthday

(KTVI) - On Saturday, St. Louisans had a chance to meet some of the people who helped build the Gateway Arch.  October 25th is the 49th anniversary of the monument's completion.

Some of the original iron workers, electricians, sheet-metal workers, draftsmen, field engineers and x-ray technicians were on hand at the "Meet the Builders" celebration.

The event was held at the Gateway Arch Visitor Center. Workers talked with the public and signed autographs.
