COLLINSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – Police say 33-year-old Malvin Crain of Granite City reportedly grabbed a 6-year-old boy by his jacket, pulled out his belt and threatened to attack the child if he didn’t stop bullying his daughter. But according to the Collinsville school superintendent Bob Green, he got word of the alleged bullying last week when the boy's mother reported the incident.

Green said the principle followed procedure, contacting the parent of the 6-year-old= and contacted the other parent, thinking a deal had been done.

When I asked why the adult was allowed on the bus in the first place, he told me what the bus company  “First Student” told him, “They said sometimes parents get on the bus to ask questions or deliver information and they didn’t think the parent was going to get out of control and do anything."

Green is going to be addressing these kinds of concerns moving forward.

Crain turned himself into police, he was charged with aggravated assault and battery, both Class A misdemeanors. Crain is out on bond.
