PAXTON, Ill. (AP) _ Two men have each been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for kidnapping and robbing a central Illinois businessman.

The (Champaign) News-Gazette reports a judge sentenced 26-year-old Rodolfo Cerritos of Paxton to 25 years in prison and gave 25-year-old Evigan Marcos of Loda 26 years in prison for armed robbery. They received concurrent five-year sentences for kidnapping.

Joel Hastings of Paxton says he has suffered from depression and anxiety since they tried to extort $50,000 from him last December. He says they pointed a gun at him and hit him with a bat before taking his money and credit cards, kidnapping him for an afternoon and threatening his family.

The FBI arranged for Hastings to leave $50,000 in a park in January. Cerritos was arrested after authorities saw him taking the cash.
