ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The folks at Schnucks Markets have found a way to help some of those suffering from the unrest in Ferguson.

Employees at Sam's Meat Market are among that group. The business was looted back in August, then burned to the ground in November leaving workers without a job. Like many of us, the head of the Schnucks' meat and seafood division wanted to help somehow.  So, he decided to hire some of Sam's employees to work in his store's meat departments.

Tracking them down was the first challenge.

"It's kind of like a personal mission to try to go after these guys. It was something. Like every door we went to, we couldn't get a hold of them, we couldn't get a hold of them. Then we found them. That was the most rewarding. The second most rewarding was when we were able to hire them yesterday and they looked me in the eye, shook my hand, and said, 'thank you'." said Schnucks Market VP Ed Meyer.

Meyer was able to hire three of Sam's workers in the meat departments at Schnucks stores in North County.
