ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A dog named Shep was so badly abused that he was paralyzed and left for dead.  But, with the help of Stray Rescue of St. Louis and Petco this German Shepherd has a new lease on life and a new name. He is now called Roman and is helping others.

The group, Stray Rescue has been singled out for its mission to save pets. The story about ‘Shep’ the dog and his  comeback after being brutally abused caught the attention of the Petco Foundation. Petco awarded Stray Rescue with a $25,000 grant as part of its Holiday Wishes program.
