Dave Murray’s Latest STL forecast and weather disco…WEDNESDAY…December 24, 2014:

***Merry Christmas Eve everyone…the southern storm in play…sloppy wet snow this morning into the early afternoon going to flurries into the evening…borderline temps…but should be cold enough…quiet on Christmas Day.***

WEDNESDAY:

Lots of clouds…cold…sloppy wet snow going to flurries…poor visibility at times in the snow….breezy
WINDS: West 10-20 M.P.H.
HIGH: 36 degrees

WEDNESDAY NIGHT:CHRISTMAS EVE

Clouds…some evening snow flurries…cold
WINDS: Northwest 5-15 M.P.H.
LOW: 32 DEGREES.

THURSDAY:CHRISTMAS DAY

Clouds to start..then turning partly sunny
WINDS: Northwest 5-10 M.P.H.
HIGH: 45 degrees

Quiet on Friday…some flurries Friday night

THE WEATHER DISCO:

Not alot of change in the thinking here…but a tough and complex forecast…still questions in play…but here comes the southern low pressure for Wednesday…a rain/wet snow mix early morning…going over to a sloppy wet snow(those hamster sized flakes)…prime snow time 8am to 2pm then going over the flurries into Christmas Eve. Snow amounts metro STL…50  miles around downtown and point off to the northeast up to Litchfield and Carlinville…1 to 3 inches…a dusting to an inch for everyone else….roads should be pretty good…temps around 36 degrees…most of this accumulation will be on the grass, trees, parked cars, decks, etc.All is quiet Christmas Day…clouds early then partly sunny.

I will be off Wednesday and Thursday but will be checking in from time to time…Merry Christmas everyone!!!
