CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) _ A restaurant has opened in a Cape Girardeau building that was featured in the major motion picture “Gone Girl.”

The Southeast Missourian (http://bit.ly/1COLzDW) reports that The Bar is a former catering business. The corner site was transformed for the film production. In the adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling novel, Ben Affleck stars as a husband under the suspicious glare of the media and the scrutiny of the police when his wife goes missing.

Old Town Cape Dining LLC marketing director Laura Jones says The Bar originally was set to open in October to coincide with the film’s release. But the date was pushed back to this month because of needed renovations in the building.

Jones says the venue has a capacity of 75 people.
