ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Warm, un-February like weather arrives this weekend just in time for some of the most popular events of the St. Louis Mardi Gras season. The fun starts at 9am Saturday with the Run For Your Beads 5K, where runners 21 and up can take pit stops along the race route for beer and hurricanes. After you’ve worked up an appetite,  St. Louis Mardi Gras style, the Taste of Soulard begins. For $25, attendees get one Southern Comfort drink voucher and six food vouchers that they can use at the more than 30 participating bars and restaurants, including McGurks, Epic Pizza, and Mission Taco.

This self-guided tasting and pub crawl has become one of the most popular events of the Mardi Gras season and, with temperatures in mid to upper 50°s this weekend, crowds are expected to be huge.

The Taste of Soulard continues Sunday which is also the day of the incredibly popular Beggin' Pet Parade, the world’s largest costumed pet parade. The parade fun will be followed by a concert by Blues Traveler and the famous Wiener Dog Derby.
