Belleville man facing child pornography charges

BELLEVILLE, IL (KTVI) – A 25-year-old Belleville man appeared in federal court Monday to be arraigned on child pornography charges, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois Stephen Wigginton said.

According to court documents, Michael Anderson knowingly had possession of a digital recording containing child porn involving a minor under the age of 12, on or about September 4, 2014.

Prosecutors charged Anderson with one count of possession of prepubescent child pornography.

The trial is scheduled for April 29.

If convicted, Anderson faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine up to $250,000, and a term of supervised release between five years and life.
