ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Veterans arriving for scheduled appointments at the Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic on Manchester Road received a chilly reception in the lobby Monday morning. Saturday's ice storm is blamed for shutting down the heating system in the front part of the building for several hours. Employees went about their day bundled up in hats, coats, gloves and scarfs. Patients dressed in winter attire were given an option to reschedule their appointments. There is no word on how cold it got, but according to federal guidelines, the temperature should be between 68-72 degrees. By mid afternoon, the problem had been resolved.
