Man gets 25 years in girlfriend’s 2012 strangulation death

ST. LOUIS (AP) _ A 20-year-old St. Louis man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty in his girlfriend’s strangulation death.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Leonard A. Johnson has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the March 2012 death of Sarah Billingsley-Walker. Johnson admitted he strangled Billingsley-Walker in his home.

Johnson appeared in St. Louis Circuit Court on Wednesday.

Billingsley-Walker had been Vashon High School’s homecoming queen and co-valedictorian.
