COLLINSVILLE, IL (KTVI)-The Illinois Department of Transportation is warning drivers about potentially dangerous travel conditions as a winter storm moves through the state.  Up to 8 inches of snow has fallen in communities east of St. Louis.  IDOT pretreated bridges, overpasses and ramps prone to icing on Saturday and has full crews out working to remove the snow Sunday.

With temperatures near 30°, IDOT says salt spread behind plows is doing its job and keep main roads and interstates ice free.
