Columbia police say 2 wounded outside senior center

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ Columbia police say two men have been wounded in a shooting in the parking lot of a senior center.

Sgt. Robert Dochler said in a news release that officers were sent to the Columbia Senior Center around 3 a.m. Saturday after a fight broke out during a large party. People calling 911 reported hearing more than 25 shots.

The release said a 30-year-old man was shot in the back of the head, and a 27-year-old man was shot in the torso. Police described the wounds as non-life threatening. The two men were taken to area hospitals in personal vehicles.

Police said at least one vehicle also sustained gunshot damage.

Officers located multiple cartridge casings in the senior center parking lot. Investigators are trying to determine how many shooters were involved.
