FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL (KTVI) – Friday the Fairview Heights Police Department arrested 3 suspects for allegedly stealing merchandise from Kohl’s Department store. Security officers at the store called the police detailing the suspect’s vehicle.

Officers arrived on the scene located the vehicle, stopping it and detained two male and one female. All 3 suspects were taken into custody. During the arrest, police also discovered the female suspect was accompanied by her 4-year-old daughter.

During the arrest of the suspects, one officer noticed that one of male suspects made phone call prior to being arrested. That phone call was made to 911, alerting the O’Fallon Illinois Police Department to a possible armed robbery at a Moto Mart in Fairview Heights with shots fired.

Officers from both departments responded to the call and surrounded the Moto Mart. It was later determined that the call was hoax and that one of male suspects in Kohl’s theft had made the call in the hope of drawing police away for their getaway.

A search of the suspects and vehicle uncovered stolen merchandise, drugs, drug paraphernalia, a stun gun and a can of mace, along with a cell phone used to make the false 911 robbery call.

Jerome J. Abbott II, 23, of St. Louis is charged with theft, and Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Jerrica A. Both Abbotts have posted bond and have been released. Bootchee is being on a $75,000 bond and outstanding warrants.
