ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - This is going to be a very busy weekend in downtown St. Louis with big events at three different venues.

An extraordinary production underway of a show that has never been seen before in St. Louis about a show that has been seen everywhere in the world. That's not all that's happening downtown this weekend.

On Saturday thousands downtown will be bleeding blue while thousands more will either be awash in a sea of red or at the Peabody to see the world's most famous red head.

"I Love Lucy Live" on stage is taking the  stage at the Peabody Opera House. When I Love Lucy debuted on television in 1951 the concept of filming a sitcom before a live studio audience was a brand new experience.

For the actors playing such iconic roles is a challenge because the audience comes to the show with the look and sound of the original actors seared into their memories.

As part of the performance the cast recreates two full episodes of the original show. For all you Lucy aficionados they are "Lucy Has Her Eyes Examined" And "The Benefit."
