The Cardinals honored Hall of Famer Red Schoendienst on Friday night, 70 years to the day that Schoendienst made his Major League Baseball debut. April 17, 1945, Red played left field for the Cardinals and a baseball career was born. 70 years later, Red is still with his beloved Cardinals.
The team presented Schoendienst with a silver plate and a special Cardinals jersey to commemorate his 70 year accomplishment. Fox 2 Sports reporter Zac Choate talked with Cardinals officials and media members who have great stories of the legendary Red Schoendienst.
