ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO (KTVI) - Volunteers in Medicine is calling for more to be done to help the uninsured in St. Charles County. The head of the group, Dr. Ferrigni says it’s time to end the politics in expanding Medicaid for an estimated 11,000 St. Charles County residents that are uninsured.

Dr. Ferringni says the residents are falling through the Medicaid gap that prevents families from gaining access to healthcare.

Though some aid is provided by hospitals and pharmaceutical companies to offset the cost of care, it’s limited to how much the free clinics can do to serve the uninsured.
