ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Do you want to help monarch butterflies flourish? If so, the St. Louis Zoo is encouraging people to plant milkweed.

Zoo officials say it will help attract the butterflies.  For a $40 donation the Zoo will give you garden gloves and milkweed seed. They also say it makes a perfect Mother’s Day gift.

There isn’t a lot of milkweed around the area. So there just aren’t as many Monarch butterflies as there used to be.
