Large western storm brings late season snow to Rockies, Plains

DENVER, CO (KTVI)-A strong storm system has brought severe weather to Texas and Oklahoma, but also big, late season snow to the Rocky Mountains and the northern Plains.  Snow accumulations at Denver International Airport Sunday totaled four inches. Nine inches was reported Aurora and two and a half inches in Boulder.

Grounds crews were busy Sunday morning clearing snow from Coors Field where the Rockies have a game against the Dodgers at 2:10pm local time.

Rapid City, SD saw about a six inches of snow. Chadron, NE reported a whopping 18″!

The same storm system will bring a chance of strong to severe storms to St. Louis on Sunday afternoon and cooler temperatures Monday and Tuesday.
