Police: Man robs St. Charles payday loan business

ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) – Police in St. Charles are asking for the public’s help in locating the man responsible for robbing a local payday loan business Monday morning.

According to Captain Don Thurman, a spokesman for the St. Charles Police Department spokesman, the incident occurred around 10 a.m. at Missouri Payday Loan in the 2100 block of First Capitol Drive.

The suspect approached the counter and demanded money from the register, Thurman said. After being given an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect ordered the two employees into a back room. The workers were doused with pepper spray and the suspect fled the scene.

No customers were inside the business at the time of the robbery, Thurman said. The employees were not seriously injured.

Police described the suspect as an African-American man of medium height with a medium build, wearing a dark baseball cap, a gray t-shirt, and dark pants.
