Helping military dogs find loving families in retirement

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - When we think of those serving in the military, we often forget about service dogs. They have many important jobs designed to save the lives of soldiers, including mine detection.

Chanel, a retired mine detection dog, visits Fox 2 News in the Morning with her adopted mom Patti Sweeney, as well as Kevin Brackett from the group Operation War Dogs.

Petropolis, a local dog grooming and doggie daycare company, is raising money to help military dogs transition from active service to nice, comfortable lives back in the states with loving families.
