ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) - You Paid For It Investigates a MoDOT Mistake on Manchester road in Ellisville after getting a tip from an Ellisville resident.

It installed new medians on Manchester near Clarkson, then had to rip part of them right back out.

The Medians were supposed to help traffic but instead made things worse.

The fix cost cash strapped MoDOT $53,000.

Investigator Elliott Davis talked to MoDOT District Engineer Greg Horn to explain what went wrong.

It appears MoDOT worked out the project on paper but didn't go out to test how it would work in the real world.

The Agency says from here on it will try to do more real world testing.
