ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – It’s year two for Fair St. Louis in Forest Park. Good weather has Gateway City residents coming out to the park for day two of the July 4th Weekend spectacular.
An estimated 40,000 to 50,000 people packed into Forest Park for opening night on Thursday.
Fair organizers said Art Hill can hold big crowds, pointing to the 1904 World's Fair, which drew an estimated 250,000 people.
To help facilitate crowds coming in and out of the park, Metro and St. Louis police are encouraging many to take mass transit and download the free Fair St. Louis app.
On Thursday, the big fireworks display concluded at 10:30 p.m. Police had the park emptied and closed by 10:55 p.m.
