Human remains found in Dunklin County ditch

KENNETT, Mo. (AP) _ Authorities are investigating after human remains were found in a ditch in Dunklin County.

The Southeast Missourian reports authorities received a call Wednesday night from two people catching frogs in a drainage ditch south of Kennett and said they found what they believed was a body.

According to Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder, two deputies went to the scene and found that the remains were a human torso. The remains were recovered and are now in the custody of the Dunklin County coroner.

An investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.
