ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The first day of school is just days away and some parents can't afford the supplies their kids will need to head back to class.

However, there is an enjoyable way you can help those needy families while having fun.

Elizabeth Gotway from Six Flags St. Louis joins FOX 2 to talk about the Sixth Annual Six Flags Back-to-School Supply Drive benefiting KidSmart.

  • Six Flags asks guests to bring 5 school supplies that are new and in the original packaging and are found on KidSmart`s Top 5 'most needed items' list.
  • These supplies include paper, pencils, crayons, markers and glue. KidSmart will distribute the school supplies to teachers from qualifying schools who shop at the KidSmart Free Store once a month.
  • The teachers will then distribute the school supplies to students who are in need of the items.
  • The School Supply Drive is August 3-7 & 10-14.
  • On these dates, guests who bring 5 or more of the requested school supplies to Six Flags St. Louis` front gate will receive a one-day general admission ticket for a discounted rate of just $30.99.
