Former MO Representative suffers “medical emergency” while traveling

(KTVI)-Former U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO) has reportedly experienced a “medical emergency” while traveling with her family. A spokeswoman for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association told The Hill that she is in stable condition. No other information has been made available.

Emerson, 64, has been CEO of the NRECA since 2013.

Emerson represented southern Missouri in Congress from 1996 until early 2013. She was married to the late Rep. Bill Emerson (R-MO). When he died of cancer in 1996, she won an election to succeed him in the House.
