Town and Country man sentenced for filing false tax return

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- A Town and Country, MO man has been sentenced to one year and one day in prison for filing false tax returns. Alfred Brown, 62, had pleaded guilty back in May and was sentenced in Federal court Tuesday morning.

Brown admitted to failing to disclose cash withdrawals and payments for luxury cars used as income by him as his wife from a small St. Louis church where he was pastor and from daycare center affiliated with that church.  The case covers tax years for 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Brown was also ordered to pay $99,038 in restitution.
