Starlin Castro hit two home runs and drove in six runs to help the Cubs blast the Cardinals 8-3 on Friday afternoon in Chicago. The Cubs got three first inning runs off Cardinals starting pitcher Lance Lynn. The Cardinals battled back to tie the game at 3-3 in the fifth inning on a bases loaded walk issued to Tommy Pham. But Castro then started his own personal power show with a two run home run in the fifth inning, followed by a three run homer in the sixth inning.

With the victory, the Cubs move to within six games of the Cardinals for the top spot in the National League Central division. You can see game two of the series, right here on KTVI-Fox 2 on Saturday. Coverage begins at 11:30 AM. Fox 2 will have a “Red Zone” post game show as soon as the Cardinals vs Cubs game is finished.
