ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Are you waking up tired this morning after a restless night with your kids? You’re not alone.

Pediatrician, Dr. Kathleen Berchelmann, explains ways to win the bedtime battle with your kids. Dr. Berchelmann is a pediatrician at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and she knows all too well that 30-percent of school aged kids struggle to get to sleep and stay asleep.

Some advice Dr. Berchelmann gives is to not skip pillow talk, allow your child to self-regulate his or her bedtime, no screens before bed, consider melatonin, teach your child to give their worries away, set a routine, don’t skip the story, get rid of stimulants, regulate fluids, and call your pediatrician.
