PITTSBURGH, PA (KTVI)- The St. Louis Cardinals will not have the opportunity to clinch the National League Central title Tuesday night as hoped. The game in Pittsburgh against the Pirates has been postponed due to rain.

The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Wednesday. The first game will start at 12:35pm St. Louis time.  The second game will follow at 6:00pm.

With five games remaining in their regular season schedule, the Cardinals have a Major League best 99-58 record. The Central division has hardly been a runaway, though; the Pirates and Chicago Cubs have the second and third best records in all of baseball.

The Pirates sit 4 games behind the Cardinals, while the Cubs are 7.5 back.
